  1. i have a question regarding my Blue Rhino iguana, since a few weeks ago it seems she is behaving like the green iguana with temperature/season change, do the rhino’s act like the green iguanas with seasonal change? (especially i am in NH, so its gone from warm to cold fast )

    1. Hi Pamela,
I can’t believe I missed replying to your message, I am soooo sorry. Yes blue rhinos are the same as the green during mating season. I hope you adapted to him perhaps chasing you around and took my advice on finding a surrogate for him, in the form of a stuffed plushy toy lizard, it really helps them. They have strong mating instincts built in, as do all animals. We just need to understand them and figure out ways to help them and us cope. I’ll check back on my site to see if you replied back. Wow it was over a year since you sent this. I am apologize for not responding sooner. Mary Ann

  2. Hi!
A girl from Mexico who has a 2 yo iguana! I just found out about your website while searching for Dos and Don’ts, and if it’s even possible (and viable for him/her) to travel with an iguana.

Personally, I’m looking for this as I might need to do a long stay (possible moving out to) Japan. Wondering if you ever did such a long trip with yours?

Thanks in advance for any tips and input you have on this!!

    Best,
    A.

    1. I’ve never had such a long trip but I know larger planes may have cabin pressured areas for pets which would keep the box warm as long as you have the petsafe microwavable disk to keep the box warm. They also make hand warmer packs that can last 24 hours. I’d make the box and put the heat source in and check it out in the house like I did before you travel, just to make sure its not too hot for gets too cold. Iguanas are hardy and can recover from low temps. Make sure you check with customs because many countries don’t allow certain reptiles. So great you have found my site. I so love helping you and bless you in your journey. Mary Ann
